About
Meet Kalie
Kalie’s approach is shaped by careful observation and a belief that children’s ideas are worth time and attention.

As a preschooler, Kalie was an outgoing, inquisitive, and fiercely determined young child. (According to her mom!)
She went on to attain a degree in Child Development from Cal Poly, study early education in Denmark and Finland, and obtain certification in Early Childhood Administration from UCLA. She has 9 years of early childhood experience in a variety of settings from Montessori-inspired classrooms to full immersion nature connection.

Kalie draws from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, nature-based education, and her experiences abroad to build an integrative practice grounded from careful observation and intentional language.
Her teaching style is centered around discerning when to engage, and when to allow an experience to unfold.

Outside of the classroom, Kalie enjoys identifying local birds and plants, illustrating native San Luis Obispo wildlife, performing Japanese taiko drumming, and teaching partner acrobatics. These interests continue to shape the creative spirit of the program.
