Outdoor Studio
An after-school creative enrichment program for tinkering and artistic development in a peaceful, garden-based environment for
4 - 5 year old children.

Monday Afternoons 1:10 PM - 3:30 PM

Begins conveniently after SLO Coastal District TK Dismissal, just steps away from Pacheco Elementary.
Outdoor Studio is open to children within the program's age range whose schedules allow them to participate.

Process Over Product
Children are granted the freedom to pursue their ideas without being right or wrong.
Creative Agency & Self Expression
Children develop confidence by exploring ideas, observing others, and participating in creative projects.
Problem Solving & Collaboration
Open-ended, transformable materials in collaborative environments encourage children to negotiate, coordinate, and test possibilities.
Connection to the Living World
Engaging with a seasonally changing garden environment supports observation, care, and familiarity with the natural environment.
A Typical Day
Mondays 1:10 PM - 3:30PM
Arrival & Optional Snack

freedom to move between active and quiet spaces for rest

closing water/mud play, storytelling, music

Children should arrive dressed for active outdoor play and changing weather conditions.
The Outdoor Studio continues outdoor activities during light or scattered showers, and utilizes SLO Gardenschool's indoor space during sustained or heavy rain.
Tuition & Fees
$110 / Month
$25 Enrollment & Supply Fee
Buddy Discount:
Creating is more fun with a friend! Enroll together and we’ll waive the Enrollment & Supply Fee for both families.
Families receive a $25 tuition adjustment for scheduled and unexpected closures including holidays and severe weather.
Outdoor Studio Interest Form
Optional tours are available after submitting the interest form.
